Amanda Bailey

Amanda Bailey is a Chartered and Registered Public Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ) and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK. With a career spanning over a decade, Amanda brings extensive audit, assurance, and financial reporting experience to her role as an Associate at Charles O’Connor & Associates (COA), which she joined in November 2024.
Amanda’s professional journey includes serving in senior leadership roles at global accounting firms such as KPMG Jamaica, BDO UK, and currently Deloitte LLP in the United Kingdom, where she holds the position of Audit Manager. Over the years, she has successfully led and managed numerous audit engagements across multiple sectors including banking, investment management, insurance, telecommunications, and manufacturing.
Her core technical competencies include risk-based audits, IFRS reporting, internal controls testing, and compliance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA). Amanda is particularly skilled in handling complex accounting areas such as IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments), IFRS 15 (Revenue Recognition), and IFRS 16 (Leases), and is well-versed in auditing tools such as eAudit, CaseWare, and IDEA.
Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences (Accounting) from the University of the West Indies, Mona, and is known for her strong analytical acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and high standards of professional ethics.
In addition to her work with COA and Deloitte, Amanda has a passion for developing talent and building audit capacity. She has played an instrumental role in coaching and mentoring junior auditors, while also serving as a technical resource on engagements requiring high levels of professional judgment and industry knowledge.
With her solid foundation in both local and international accounting standards and her experience navigating multi-national engagements, Amanda continues to be a valuable contributor to the accounting and assurance profession, both in Jamaica and the wider global landscape.
